The Diachronic Barber Pole Observations of a Recovering Hockey Exile

I Was Wrong About Crosby

May 21, 2009, by Homme De Sept-Iles

from an email this evening to two hockey gurus in my life

I’ve watched several games with Crosby. I am humbled and educated.

1) Crosby is a great player. Is he the greatest in the league? Maybe not. But he could become that.
2) Yes, you are both right that this kid takes a hell of a beating. I see that now.
3) He tries hard, works hard, wants to be great. Plays clean. Plays hard. All qualities I admire.
4) I am no longer going to hold Crosby responsible for what the press says about him. That’s not his fault.

Thanks for lecturing me about this earlier this season.
