The Diachronic Barber Pole Observations of a Recovering Hockey Exile

Media Monkeys

May 23, 2009, by Homme De Sept-Iles

A short thought on something that needs revisiting.

We are given a lot of pretend elements of journalism in the sports world.

Individuals hold microphones and ask questions. The problem is almost none of these questions are of a journalistic vein. What should we expect from journalists around the game? Are the people who bring us sports updates, in fact, journalists? Or are they just selected embedded individuals who go only as far as the combination of their own personal integrity and the tolerance of the beast that feeds them allows?
