The Diachronic Barber Pole Observations of a Recovering Hockey Exile

Late Night Office Shinny

July 19, 2009, by Homme De Sept-Iles

like boys
they left their suits in their cars
laughing
like off-duty investment traders

coffee wrinkles
fine fragrant shirts
in Beemer trunks
ties stuffed in dashboards

they were warm
when it was cold

smiles of the free
they hurried with skates
grabbed their sticks
ignoring the blushes of the dames

as they skated out onto my glass desk

the captain and the man he saved
Frenchie and many others like him
and a Greek, Czech, Frenchman and Swiss
