Three for the Other Captain

August 6, 2009, by Homme De Sept-Iles

Alternate King

it was as white as it gets

i wrote in white on white

and you could see

and you could sway
and slide
pride

those pucks were all yours

Mercy Mercury

   that oval ice palette
  red plates spin
iris blue

pucks winked
as you warped smiles from stick

                        nets cooed
                                 fans aahed

        no polar
 just greyscale vanilla

    velvet cherry
and bottletop blue

         big polar
            the blackhit redhat
              russian kapitan kommissar
                   very beary, clevery slippery

wick discs
 black coins
    in her crease

You Discovered Your Castles' Sand

a time for goodbye
you'll return wrong hat
have you ever married the wrong woman?
have you ever raised someone else's child?

that wasn't my city
this wasn't my cold, blue hard hat

gold wasn't yours

skate back to us in your memories
steal Frank's number
