Anger Founds Laughter

Is comedy the greatest art form? More of the performer remains behind after his death; his pauses, intonations, body language, sense of irony, arched eyebrow. More than with other public performers, we can guess at more and more deeply at his personality, his possible likes and dislikes.
What is so grand about the player who “gives 100%” night in and night out? Is he not just a cult member, a Moonie, a born-again, a wilfully ignorant Republican?
The humanity of a player (employee, citizen, drone) shows when he refuses to honour fully the corporate machine’s contract. He shows himself flawed, real or imaginative.
Or is the above a flaw in itself (or a series of flaws) in logic that allows one to abdicate responsibility?
