The Diachronic Barber Pole Observations of a Recovering Hockey Exile

The Leaf in a Canadiens’ Jersey

September 15, 2009, by Homme De Sept-Iles

adapted from Aesop’s Fables

A brazen Leaf, having donned a Canadiens’ jersey, wandered the tundra and amused himself by intimidating any foolish creatures he met in his roamings.  Finally, coming upon a Black Hawk, the Leaf tried to intimidate him also.  But the Black Hawk, on hearing the sound of the Leaf’s voice, remarked, “I might also have been intimidated myself, had I not heard your bray.”

Moral: Clothes don’t make the man.
